  36.       What is Game Collector?
  37.                
  38.       Game Collector is a database program for making a list of 
  39.       your computer games: PC games as well as console games for 
  40.       PlayStation2, XBox, GameCube, and older platforms. Adding 
  41.       games to the list is quick and easy because all information 
  42.       is automatically downloaded from the internet. The 
  43.       resulting list can be sorted, searched, grouped, printed or 
  44.       exported to HTML or text. Read on for more details.

  46.       Adding games to the database
  47.                
  48.       Adding games to the list is done by typing only the game 
  49.       title and then letting the program download all information 
  50.       about the game from the internet, including the cover 
  51.       images. To do this, open the Add Game by Searchig Info 
  52.       Sources screen. Enter the title of the game or the barcode. 
  53.       Then click the Search button to find all matching games on 
  54.       Amazon or All Game Guide. (screen 1). Select the correct 
  55.       matches, hit Add and all information about the game will be 
  56.       downloaded from the selected info sources, including the 
  57.       cover images, platform, genre, release year, publisher, 
  58.       etc...

  60.       If you want, you can add more information about the game 
  61.       manually, in the Edit Game screen, e.g. add the series 
  62.       (screen 2) or a review URL (screen 3).

  64.       Using the database
  65.                
  66.       Once you have entered a number of games you can view the 
  67.       list on the main screen, e.g. as a simple list of all games 
  68.       (screen 4). It is also possible to browse your collection 
  69.       of games viewing them grouped by platform (screen 5) or by 
  70.       genre (screen 6) or by other fields and even combination of 
  71.       fields.  
  72.       The list section of the screen either shows a list with 
  73.       multiple columns (you can choose which columns) or small 
  74.       images of the game covers (screen 7).

  76.       All lists can be sorted instantly, on any field, e.g. 
  77.       alphabetically on genre, title or platform, or sorted on 
  78.       release date or purchase date. Using the "incremental 
  79.       search" functions you can find items quickly. Just sort the 
  80.       list on the field you want to search on, then start typing 
  81.       the first letter of the value you are looking for. While 
  82.       you type the selection will jump to the first item that 
  83.       matches.

  85.       Using the Filter feature you can search for any value in 
  86.       any field, e.g. find all games with the word "one" in the 
  87.       title. You can even make combinations of search criteria, 
  88.       e.g. find all XBox games in the Action genre that have the 
  89.       word "space" in the title (screen 8).
